Located between Blackfriars and St Paul’s, and completed in April 2015, 1 & 2 New Ludgate is made up of two distinct buildings linked by a public piazza.

Developed by Land Securities, 2 New Ludgate comprises over 195,000 sq ft of office space and almost 6,000 sq ft of retail space across 10 storeys. 

Bells MES was commissioned to fit gas supplies to three brand new restaurants: Jamie’s Italian, Burger & Lobster and contemporary Italian restaurant, Obica.

Coded welding was required throughout, which entailed on-site testing, testing at our workshop and also welds being sent off for x-raying. The installation included a combination of 2-inch pipework and 3-inch inner pipework with a 5-inch outer. Our team had to connect the mains through to the restaurants and cap-off the pipework ready for the restaurant fit-out.

Although undertaken at extremely short notice, this 8-week contract was finished within 6 weeks. This allowed fit-out work to resume ahead of schedule saving our client both time and money.
